Common causes
- A failed or weak condensate drain pump
- A blocked or sagging drain pipe
- A stuck or faulty float switch
- A dirty filter freezing the coil, which then thaws and drips
- A dirty drain pan overflowing
- A unit installed out of level
What you can check yourself
- Switch the unit off and clean or replace the filter.
- Look for water stains around the panel to see where it drips.
- Check that the drain outlet is clear and water flows away.
- Listen for the drain pump when the unit starts. Silence can point to a failed pump.
When to call a technician
If the leak returns after cleaning the filter, switch the unit off at the isolator and call for service. Water near electrical parts is a safety risk. Our Cassette AC Repair service covers diagnosis and repair.
