Window AC on rent: from ₹8,000
A window AC is one self-contained box that sits in a window frame or a wall cut-out. It's the more affordable option, quicker to set up, and straightforward to service, which makes it a solid choice for smaller rooms, guest stays, and temporary offices.
The one requirement is an opening that fits the unit. If your room has neither a suitable window nor a cut-out, a split AC is the better route.
Split AC on rent: from ₹11,000
A split AC has two parts: a wall-mounted indoor unit that cools the room, and an outdoor unit that releases the heat. The indoor unit runs quieter, and it doesn't take up a window, so placement is more flexible. It suits larger rooms and bookings that run through a whole season.
The trade-off is installation. A split needs a wall for the indoor unit, a spot for the outdoor unit, and a pipe run between them. If you're in a rented flat, check with your landlord before any drilling is done.

When renting makes more sense than buying

What decides the final cost
The starting prices are ₹8,000 for window and ₹11,000 for split. The final figure depends on three things: unit size, tonnage, and rental duration.
As a rough guide, a small room of up to about 120 sq ft is usually served by a 1-ton unit, a medium room of around 120 to 180 sq ft by 1.5 tons, and a larger room by 2 tons. Top-floor rooms, sun-facing walls, and rooms with many people or a lot of electronics need more capacity than floor area alone suggests, so treat this as a starting point and let a technician confirm the size.
